TPE
Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) or plasmapheresis, removes particles that are known contributors to disease and accelerated ageing.
TPE is a medical procedure that involves removing, treating, and returning blood plasma to the body. TPE promote a global shift to a younger systemic proteome, including youthfully restored pro- regenerative, anticancer, and apoptotic regulators and a youthful profile of markers in circulating cells, with reduced cellular senescence and lower DNA damage.
-
Electrolyte Balance: Maintaining electrolyte balance is crucial for supporting cellular function, nerve signalling, and muscle contraction.
-
Nutrient Supplementation: Adding essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to the replacement fluid can help replenish deficiencies and support overall nutritional status.
-
Antioxidants: Incorporating antioxidants into the replacement fluid can help neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, associated with biological ageing and age-related diseases.
-
Anti-inflammatory Agents: Adding anti-inflammatory compounds to the replacement fluid may help mitigate chronic inflammation, implicated in the ageing process and the development of age-related diseases.
-
Hormone Replacement: Depending on individual health needs, hormone replacement therapy can be considered as part of TPE for longevity.
-
Hydration and Fluid Balance: Maintaining adequate hydration and fluid balance is essential for supporting cardiovascular health, kidney function, and overall physiological processes.
-
pH Balance: Maintaining proper pH balance in the replacement fluid is important for supporting metabolic processes and cellular function.
-
Microbiota Modulation: Considering interventions to modulate the gut microbiota, such as prebiotics, probiotics, or faecal microbiota transplantation, may positively impact gut health, immunity, and overall longevity.
